2022-2023 West Virginia Business Plan Competition Semi-Finalists

The West Virginia Business Plan Competition Series provide high school students, college students, and community members from around the state with the opportunity to make a business idea come to life, with the support of state institutions of higher education and seasoned business professionals across the nation.

The competitions have three rounds. In round one, participants submit a 90-second YouTube video pitching their idea. Judges score the entries and the top scores move on to the next round.

The  2022-23 West Virginia Collegiate Business Plan Competition  (WVBPC) provides college students throughout the state of West Virginia with the unique opportunity to make a business idea come to life with the support of state institutions of higher education and investors from around the country. The competition awards technical assistance funding each year to eager entrepreneurs in West Virginia.

Judges and Partners for the 2022 West Virginia Business Plan Compeition

Greg Burton has been the executive chairman of the boards of directors for Encova Mutual Insurance Group (EMIG) and Encova Holding, Inc. (EHI) since 2017. Effective January 1, 2022, he was named Chairman of both Boards.  EMIG is a regional insurance carrier writing in 28 states with over $1 billion in premium, $1.8 billion in surplus and $6 billion in assets.

Greg became BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Company CEO when the company was launched in 2006. He was also the company’s president from 2006 through May 2015. Greg previously led the West Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission (WVWCC). During Greg’s time at the WVWCC, he and his team played a central role in the successful reform of West Virginia’s workers’ compensation system.

WV High School and Collegiate Business Plan Competition Announces Semifinalists
